Power continuity for the check-in system

Faro Airport needed to ensure an uninterrupted power supply for its check-in system, a critical part of the airport’s daily operations and passenger processing.

To meet this requirement, a 120 kVA Riello MPT UPS was installed, selected for its robustness, reliability and ability to perform in operationally demanding environments.

The solution includes an external battery bank with 80 batteries rated at 120 Ah each, providing an approximate runtime of 30 minutes under normal operating conditions.

Under critical conditions, the configuration can support approximately 50% of the load for around 1 hour and 30 minutes, improving redundancy and allowing sufficient time for emergency systems and technical teams to respond. 

The result is a solution designed to reduce the risk of interruptions to the check-in system and provide greater operational continuity at one of the most sensitive points within the airport infrastructure.
